A BIT ABOUT ME
My last name is pronounced "Lang-wa" in French, as often several vowels together in the language form only 1 syllable. My family hails from Mississippi and Alabama, but when I was 5, my Dad transferred to Baton Rouge with Bush Jewelry Co and I've considered myself a "native by choice" ever since! Dad’s store was on 3rd St.
downtown Baton Rouge and in the 50's and 60s, this was the
bustling heart of the city. The following 3 decades would see downtown left behind during the rush to suburbia, but it has thankfully had a tremendous resurgence in recent years with new businesses, upscale hotels, great restaurants, and something always going on! I have an avid interest in history, genealogy, gardening, and
architecture and feel so fortunate
to live in Baton Rouge with its rich and colorful past, strong family traditions, lush
landscaping and beautiful homes unique to South Louisiana. As a child, I always
noticed the draping Lives Oaks and beautiful architecture in our neighborhood of
Hundred Oaks, and these now vintage homes are still my favorites! I suppose real estate was in my blood even then.
When I was 9 we moved to West Baton Rouge and I still call this friendly community home. I love serving my home parish, as well the surrounding areas of East Baton Rouge, Ascension, and Pt. Coupee parishes.
